TIRF's 2017 DDG Competition Now Open

TIRF – The International Research Foundation for English Language Education – is pleased to announce its 2017 Doctoral Dissertation Grants (DDG) competition. Grants of up to US $5,000 will be made to successful applicants investigating a range of topics in English language education. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

Hornby Scholarship Applications for MA in ELT now open for 2017/18

The applications are now open for the 2017/18 Hornby Scholarship. Eligible applicants for the scholarship award must have at least two years’ full-time ELT experience and a full university degree, and must be a citizen of the country from which they apply. Warwick University also requires a currently valid IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any of the categories. The Hornby Scholarships are intended to support experienced English language teachers who have the potential to make a significant future contribution to English language teaching and teachers in their countries.

Job Opening at Columbia University: Language Program Director

The Applied Linguistics & TESOL Programs at Teachers College, Columbia University seeks a Full-Time Language Program Director. This position entails directing two related programs: the Community Language Program (CLP) and the TESOL Certificate Program (TCP). The CLP provides English and foreign language instruction to adult learners and is an onsite language lab for students and faculty in TESOL and Applied Linguistics. The TCP offers a Summer full-time intensive program as well as a part-time Fall-Spring program.
