WIDA is seeking a Content Development Specialist to join the Assessment Team. This is a full-time position based at The University of Wisconsin-Madison. POSITION SUMMARY: The Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is home to the WIDA Project (wida.us), a leader in the development of products and services intended to support the needs of English language learners (ELLs) and their educators. This position will develop training resources for educators who administer and/or score the suite of WIDA English language assessments for PreK-12 students. These training resources, featuring multimedia delivery along with a range of print materials will help educators learn about WIDA assessments and instruct educators in the detail of how to administer and score them appropriately. Developing training resources for a new interim (progress) assessment will be a key deliverable. This position will also review test content for ELLs in Grades K-5 in all language domains (Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing), performing reviews as the test content moves through various stages of development. Participation in formal test content review meetings with educators and test development vendors is also required. Reviewing test content developed for a new interim (progress) assessment will be a key requirement for this position. MINIMUM NUMBER OF YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 1. Background in education of English language learners, especially Pre K-5 teaching experience. 2. Experience developing resources, publications, or professional development offerings for educators. 3. Experience developing or reviewing English language assessment content, preferably in a K-12 context. 4. Strong written and oral communication skills. 5. Knowledge of innovative technology, learning platforms, and instructional design for adult learning. 6. Familiarity with the WIDA standards and assessment system.
