Amir Dequan is a Humphrey Fellow in 2015-16 ( Visiting Scholar & Education Leader ). He is Pennsylvania State University Alumnus and did Educational Leadership & Teacher Education at Penn State University. He also did a short course on Communication & Culture at UC Davis, CA, US. He got his MA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from IAU and BA in English Language & Literature from ATU Iran. 
Apart from his academic studies and achievements, He is also a holder of TESOL by LTI, Sydney-Australia and Advanced Diploma in TESOL by MEG Chicago- US.  He is also a British Council-certified Master Trainer running workshops and helping many teachers and teacher trainers in Iran and around the world. He has been involved in teacher education since 1999 both in national and international programs, and his passion is helping teachers develop professionally and become more creative. He is also an ELT entrepreneur. He established AVID School of Business in 2006 in Tehran (www.avidbusinessenglish.com) which specializes in teaching ESP ( English For Specific Purposes). He has also been awarded by the Mayor of State College in the US and the former president of the United States, Barak Obama, for his yearlong professional development program and educational services in the US. He has been to more than 25 States of America, and visited many higher education & educational institutions and schools, and he has had the chance to work with and share ideas and expertise with many educational leaders, school managers and his counterparts in the US. 
Apart from teacher education, Amir also specializes in Curriculum Development, Material Development and Teaching through / with Technology. 
He has interned with International TESOL Association in Alexandria in Virginia. He conducted three important teacher education and ELT-related projects in the US.  He knows perfectly well the standards and policies of international short certificate teacher training programs such CELTA, DELTA, TESOL and DipTESOL.
